Renewing Or Registering A Commercial Vehicle

All commercial vehicles over 55,000 lbs., must provide an IRS HVUT Form 2290. This form can be e-filed by going to the IRS E-file. https://www.irs.gov/uac/e-file-Form-2290

Registering a vehicle over 55,000 lbs. for the first time , a bill of sale may be used if the purchase date is within 60 days of the application date. Vehicles being titled in a business name , must provide a current year County or City Business license, and limited to two title transactions per day. For your convenience you may call ahead for an appointment 770-949-2309.

Newly Purchased International Registration Plan (IRP)

County Offices can process title only for IRP vehicles . Please be sure to complete Form T-146 (Georgia IRP Exemption to State and Local Ad Valorem/TAVT Fee Application) https://dor.georgia.gov/t-146-georgia-irp-exemption-state-and-local-ad-valoremtitle-ad-valorem-tax-fee-application . Please be aware that sales tax is due at the time of titling your vehicle.

New International Registration Plan (IRP) Payment Changes

It is the vehicle owner ’s responsibility to know the Gross Vehicle Weight and Class of Tag that is needed to ensure their vehicle is properly registered.
