Douglasville, Georgia- Registration is now open for Operation Christmas 2019. Children enrolled within Douglas County Schools System and their younger siblings may once again receive a free Christmas gift through the generosity of the people at Operation Christmas Douglas County. Among the gifts available this year are accessories for Wii, Xbox 360, Nintendo, and PlayStation. Each registrant will also have a chance to receive one of over 200 donated bicycles in addition to their gift.
To register for this opportunity, please visit the Douglas County School System’s website, dcssga.org. Parents can also register their children in person at the Douglas County Health Department located at 6770 Selman Drive in Douglasville. The deadline to register is November 15, 2019.
Operation Christmas serves Douglas County children who receive free and reduced price meals at school. Children who are also homeless, enrolled in the Head Start program, receive Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), or other services at the Douglas County Health Department. The program has served over 36,000 children in its first four years at numerous locations which include the Sheriff’s Office, Douglasville Police Department, Douglas County Fire Department, and a number of participating churches.
Operation Christmas is based on community effort and is not sponsored by the Douglas County School System or the Douglas County Government. If your child applies to the registration requirements, register today to receive your gifts on distribution date which is December 14, 2019.
